Mid Year Update

Erin-Kate Escobar consulting has worked with 23 Organizations* in 7 different States* & 573 Individuals.

I want to share with you a few highlights from the first half of 2021. I can not believe how quickly the first half of the year has gone. I have worked with so many thoughtful people who are making groundbreaking changes within their spheres of influence and beyond!

Three projects I’m excited to share about

  1. Worked with a great consulting team of four to get a BIPOC focused fellowship launched. The organization now has a more inclusive rubric for candidates, as well as a race, equity, diversity and inclusion lens, and ongoing support for the BIPOC cohort. Not to mention a cohort of 8 BIPOC fellows all getting PAID for their writing!

  2. Helped launch a department-specific anti-racism plan!  The plan came to me with four pillars: education, mentorship, staff hiring, and development as well as decolonizing international partnerships. Through focus groups, feedback, and an interactive planning process the group is ready to run with their implementation, monitoring, and revision cycle. This cycle will continue to have ripple effects.

  3. Hosted a three-part DEI educational workshop series that helped 50+ individuals build their equity lens for each of their roles. The workshops focused on concepts of broadening definitions of “diversity,” finding ways to add “curb cut” effects to the work we already do, and practices for forming more partnerships more authentically. A follow-up with small groups led to the co-creation of operationalized DEI plans that move forward with implementing tools learned in the educational workshop series.

A few great pieces of feedback:

“The format and cadence of these workshops were well-suited for the complex conversations and goals our team had. I strongly encourage organizations like ours to take the time to pursue this work and collaborate with EK!”

One clients’ feedback after a group coaching session included them saying that they now have a plan for “Intentionally creating space to embrace the pieces of culture that have been “left out” or less supported”
